More evidence to convince you to eat an apple a day

recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition proves the age old wisdom that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. The research was part of the very large Nurses Health Study and looked at the diets of over 1500 women who were considered to have aged well, without chronic diseases.

The researchers found that those with the highest intake of flavonoids from colourful fruits and vegetables including berries, oranges, apples and onions had the highest chance of healthy ageing.

This confirms our support of the Mediterranean Diet, which is rich in fruits and vegetables and tastes delicious!
